Fourex branding

The brains at Fourex have developed a self-service multi-currency exchange machine to automatically identify and exchange currencies from over 150 countries in both coin and note form!

With an estimated £3 billion of unused foreign curreny lying dormant in UK households this is what we have all been waiting for and it even changes out of date currency. Previous to the branding the company had signed contracts with TFL and Westfield to deploy machines into several London Underground stations and high profile shopping centres as they prepare to launch across the UK with a short-term vision of entering the global market.

brief:

Develop a fun, engaging and most importantly a universal brand for this global foreign currency innovation. The brand needed to be replicated on a wide variety of assets including currency exchange kiosks, fully responsive website, collateral and promotional items.

ifour design agency solution

Following several brand workshops and strategy meetings we understood that this brand needed to be clean, effective and bold in colour to appeal to a wide variety of audiences both in the UK and overseas. We could see the huge potential for this organisation to expand so it had to be instantly recognisable when in situ in a large crowded space i.e. airport, station or shopping centre. Starting with one of our ‘Straight Thinking’ brand workshops, we were able to clearly define the next stage of the branding process, by delving deep into the brief and outcomes required.

We presented two initial concepts and both reflected the need for the identity to work across a wide and international demographic. Once the client had chosen the direction we enhanced the illustrations to reflect the worldwide nature of the product and a neutral style character Freddie was created that would work across a global platform without alienating any nationalities.

This brand needed to work across a wide variety of assets, perhaps most importantly of all was the exchange kiosk itself all the way down to smaller items including business cards, leaflets and promotional merchandise.
