As the days grew longer and Santa’s delivery date crept closer, we started to think about what we could do to bring a little joy to social media while the studio closed over Christmas.
As you may (or may not) have noticed, ifour LOVES Star Wars and were eagerly awaiting the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, as was most of the country. As the seventh installment was rumoured to cost $200million, we once again set our thinking caps to what could be done on the cheap, thus #everydaystarwars was born.
Using only what we had to hand in the studio, we challenged the team to come up with an interpretation of a classic scene or even an everyday problem possibly encountered by the iconic characters for each of the 12 days of Christmas.
From a Chewbacca hard at work designing and budget Carbonite freezing to sneaky Yoda training and force choking, the team came up with a range of pictures using everything from a nerf gun and tin foil to wrapping paper and a random blonde wig, supplemented with the Star Wars toys that happen to be littering the design studio. Our favourite to produce was probably the wookie impressions video, which resulted in much laughter. Safe to say I doubt anyone will be standing in for Chewie on the next two films!
