Ted Talks; you may have heard the name being bandied around but were unsure what exactly it meant? Ted Talks was founded in 1984 as a one off event under the slogan “Ideas worth spreading” with a particular emphasis on technology, entertainment and design.
Since the initial conference some 30 years ago, it has seen extremely high profile speakers take to the stage including Bono, Bill Gates, Stephen Hawking, Richard Branson, Julian Assange and celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.
This is a platform to spread ideas on an endless array of topics that the speaker feels particularly passionate about and keen to share with the wider world. They are kept short to a maximum of 18 minutes to ensure a succinct and concise delivery to the audience and to keep attention span to a maximum throughout the presentations.
We are over the moon that Ted Talks is coming to our town, in the form of a TedX event, which is an open source community of events that inspire innovation, thought leadership and visionary insights.
The theme for the inaugural T.Wells event is ‘Diversity of Tunbridge Wells’ and promises to be a day of celebration, challenge and curiosity.
As an agency we were extremely keen to get involved with this event and are very proud to be one of the headline sponsors along with the University of Kent.
This will be a wonderful opportunity to network with local entrepreneurs, innovators and the great and good of Tunbridge Wells for a full day session about the diversity of our area.
To open the show ifour have created a video with media guru Benjamin Hay that showcases local businesses and their opinions on the diversity of our region.
